Many sports systems have a characteristic drone and boom - not so the Milltek. A Milltek system will ensure that you have the power and the looks but the sounds stay outside!
Resonated: This includes an other silencer between the catalyst and the rear silencer giving a quieter exhaust note.
Non-Resonated: There is no front silencer as outlined above; this will give a louder exhaust note. A non-resonated exhaust can be used on the TDI to give a more petrol sounding car.

Milltek Hi-flow Catalysts & Downpipes
Combining the larger diameter of the downpipe and less restrictive hi-flow sports cat reduces backpressure so close to the turbo outlet resulting in the turbo spooling up sooner and more immediate power delivery. In some applications, it can cause boost to come in around 1000rpm earlier. Something that needs to be experienced to fully appreciate!

Milltek Hi-flow Catalysts & Downpipes
Your original catalytic converter will typically have 400 or 600 cells per square inch (cpsi), these original cats are restrictive in their flow, typically allowing an open area of around 55-65%.
Milltek Sport Hi-flow Sports Cat which will be fully integrated into a large bore downpipe, has only 100-200 cpsi depending on application. These cats have an open area of between 75-85%, thus reducing back pressure substantially and increasing flow rates, all very desirable for extracting more performance, especially on turbocharged engines. Emission levels are maintained at legal limits by careful selection of the volume of the metallic substrate. Lamda probe positions remain unchanged from the original equipment.
Milltek Sport Hi-flow Sports Cats work exceptionally well on re-mapped engines.

APR Exhaust Systems
APR offers a cat-back exhaust for the 1.8T and TDI, and also a downpipe for the 1.8T.
APR's Golf/GTI catback exhaust is a stainless steel, mandrel bent system. The exhaust begins after the factory catalytic converter with a with a 2.5" center pipe which contains a small 3" resonator. The 2.5" pipe continues back to the muffler and two 4motion style tailpipes. With TIG welding, fully stainless construction, CNC'ed hangers and a lifetime guarantee, you will not find a higher quality system on the market.
A 2.5" downpipe for the 1.8T that includes a high flow catalytic converter for the stock turbocharger can be purchased as well.
APR also offers a full 3" exhaust for the 1.8T. The exhaust is also available as just a cat-back system.
